Classic Rock Magazine

Classic Rock Magazine was started as a one off project to pay homage to classic rock, its original label being the “grown-up version of Kerrang”. However, it was so successful that it was continued and has now become one of the biggest selling music magazines in the UK today.  The primary focus of the magazine is on bands from the 1960s until the mid 1990s, although contemporary bands and singers are also featured if the magazine believes it is merited.  Our current listings of back issues and past issues of Classic Rock Magazine are shown below:

The first issue of Classic Rock was published in 1998 by Dennis Publishing and featured Guns N Roses on the front cover. The original title sold 25,000 copies while the second issue sold a further 30,000. The magazine continued to be published on an adhoc basis until February 2000, when Future Publishing bought the title and launched it as a proper monthly magazine. Within three months of the new launch circulation was running at over 50,000 copies per month.

The most famous copy of Classic Rock Magazine, other than the first edition, was its 100th edition which featured a variety of rock stars who each nominated their rock icon. A number of bands have featured on the front cover on a regular basis including Queen, Motley Crew, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.
